FOLD Transferability

FOLD Transferability

General FOLD transferability started on Aug 19, 2026, as part of the Interfold launch sequence.

Status. General FOLD transferability is active. The FOLD contract recorded the TGE on Aug 19, 2026 at 14:00:23 UTC. tgeTimestamp() on the FOLD contract returns 1787148023.

This guide explains how general transferability was enabled and what changed when it became active. It also tells auction participants how to claim FOLD, and where to find official Interfold resources.

⚠️

Use only official Interfold links and verified contract addresses. Do not trust unsolicited DMs, copied contract addresses, impersonator accounts, or unofficial claiming and trading links.

Timing

When did general FOLD transferability begin?

General FOLD transferability could be enabled at or after:

Aug 19 at 14:00 UTC (10 AM ET)

Unix timestamp: 1787148000

At or after that timestamp, anyone could call the tge() function on the FOLD contract to enable general transferability.

The timestamp did not enable transfers by itself. General transferability began when the tge() transaction executed on-chain. That transaction ran on Aug 19, 2026 at 14:00:23 UTC.

The function is permissionless. Anyone could call it after the timestamp passed. It did not depend on a specific Interfold-controlled account.

The FOLD contract (InterfoldToken) enforces these rules for tge():

  • The earliest time is the end of the CCA window (CCA_END) plus a 40-day cooldown (TGE_COOLDOWN).
  • A call before the earliest time reverts with TgeTooEarly.
  • The first successful call records the TGE time and emits TgeTriggered.
  • A second call reverts with AlreadyLive.

Is FOLD transferability the same as Network Alpha?

No. General FOLD transferability and Network Alpha are distinct milestones in the broader Interfold launch sequence.

General FOLD transferability changes the transfer state of FOLD.

Network Alpha is the first mainnet operating phase of the Interfold network.

For more about FOLD and its role in the network, see:

What changes for holders

What changes once general transferability is enabled?

When general FOLD transferability is enabled:

  • FOLD can be transferred between addresses without the launch-period general transfer restriction.
  • Holders can interact with FOLD through supported on-chain interfaces.
  • FOLD can be used for supported network functions, including ciphernode bonding where available.
  • Allocation-specific vesting, lockups, or contractual restrictions continue to apply where relevant.

General FOLD transferability does not override restrictions that apply to a specific FOLD allocation.

In the FOLD contract, the TGE removes the pre-TGE transfer restriction. The lock check stays. A wallet can transfer only its unlocked balance until the lock sunset time (NO_MORE_LOCKS).

Does general transferability remove vesting or lockups?

No. General transferability does not override vesting schedules, contractual restrictions, or other conditions that apply to specific FOLD allocations.

See FOLD Tokenomics for currently published allocation and unlock information.

Do I need to do anything to FOLD I already hold?

General FOLD transferability does not itself require holders to claim through the Auction 2 interface.

The terms of a specific allocation continue to govern any vesting, lockup, or contractual restrictions that apply to that allocation.

For currently published allocation and unlock information, see FOLD Tokenomics.

Auction claims

I participated in the FOLD auction. When can I claim?

Claiming for FOLD Auction 2 was scheduled to open immediately after the auction closed on Aug 19 at 13:06 UTC (9:06 AM ET).

You can claim allocated FOLD and any unspent USDC through the verified auction interface.

Claiming and general FOLD transferability are separate actions. Auction 2 closed shortly before general FOLD transferability was enabled.

Start from the official FOLD Auction page (opens in a new tab).

For current auction and claiming information, see the FOLD Auction FAQ.

Using FOLD

Can FOLD be used for ciphernode bonding?

FOLD supports ciphernode bonding as part of the economic operation of the Interfold network.

Ciphernode operators bond FOLD to become eligible for network duties and economically accountable for correct participation.

The FOLD contract lets FOLD move to and from the bonding registry before the TGE as well. FOLD that is under an allocation lock can also be bonded, because bonded FOLD counts toward the amount that the wallet must keep.

For current operator requirements, setup instructions, and bonding information, see:

Current operator documentation is the source of truth for network participation requirements and bonding mechanics.

Where can I trade FOLD?

Official information about supported on-chain markets and liquidity will be published through verified Interfold channels.

Always verify the FOLD token contract before you interact with a market or a third-party interface.

Verification and safety

What is the verified FOLD contract?

The canonical FOLD token contract (InterfoldToken, FOLD) on Ethereum Mainnet is:

0xE172e9B6cfBeeB5593bDcE3f077356FDb33af904

View the FOLD contract on Etherscan (opens in a new tab)

The tge() function that enables general FOLD transferability is called on this contract.

Always verify the FOLD token contract through an official Interfold source before you interact with a market, a wallet, or a third-party interface. The other Interfold contract addresses are in Contract addresses.

Where can I find official FOLD information?

Use official Interfold pages as the starting point for FOLD-related activity:

How do I stay safe around FOLD transferability?

Periods around token transferability can attract impersonators and fraudulent links.

Before you interact with FOLD:

  • Start from an official Interfold website, documentation page, or verified social account.
  • Verify the FOLD contract address before you sign a transaction.
  • Do not trust contract addresses, claiming links, or trading links sent through unsolicited DMs.
  • Do not send assets to anyone who offers manual claiming, migration, unlocking, or support.
  • Never share your seed phrase, private key, or wallet backup.
  • Review the connected network, destination, and transaction details before you sign.

Interfold team members and moderators will never ask for your seed phrase, private key, wallet backup, or access to your wallet.
